250 students were presented with the “Trade Union Scholarship”

The Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers (ETİHİ RK), a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK), has awarded “Trade Union Scholarships” to 250 students.

Aztəhsil.az reports that the event was attended by the leadership of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, its member and subordinate organizations, rectors of several higher education institutions of the country, chairpersons of student trade union committees, and students.

The event began with the playing of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in cherished memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.

Confederation Deputy Chairman Musa Mirzayev stated in his speech that the youth policy of our state, founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, has created broad opportunities for young people to be shaped in the spirit of national and moral values, receive quality education, and become active members of society.

It was noted that under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, consistent and purposeful measures are being implemented to realize the potential of young people, to develop them as highly qualified personnel, and to increase their role in socio-political life. The contributions of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of the young generation, and how projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation expand opportunities for young people in education, culture, sports, and other fields, were also emphasized.

The speech provided information on the systematic measures implemented by AHİK to strengthen the social protection of young people, protect their labor rights, and develop their potential. It was noted that the “Trade Union Scholarship” program, intended for young people with high academic performance and active participation in the student trade union movement, is one of the successful initiatives in this direction. The program fosters a healthy competitive environment among students and encourages them to achieve higher results.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Kenan Karimzade discussed the reforms implemented in the education sector, stating that the modern education system serves to develop young people's knowledge, skills, and creative abilities. He highlighted that the “Trade Union Scholarship” program would play a significant role in increasing student motivation.

Shahmar Rafili, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, spoke about the students' activity within trade union ranks and the work done to effectively organize their leisure and free time.

Within the framework of the event, a video clip was shown by AHİK, reflecting the reforms carried out in the trade union system, the projects implemented, and the innovations applied.

Finally, based on the results of the summer examination session of the 2024-2025 academic year, “Trade Union Scholarships” were awarded to 250 students who demonstrated high academic performance and actively participated in the student trade union movement.
