On March 3, the national final stage of the XV Republican Project Competition “Scientists of Tomorrow” began.
Aztəhsil.az reports that at the opening ceremony of the final stage, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov emphasized that the “Scientists of Tomorrow” project is related to science, creativity, and innovations. The Deputy Minister noted that the world-class project has been implemented by the USA since 1950. Firudin Gurbanov spoke about the roles of formal and informal education in the formation of human capital, and touched upon the application of modern technologies in education.
Deputy Director of the Institute of Education, Project Director Fuad Garayev presented a report on the statistical indicators of the competition. Fuad Garayev provided detailed information about the projects registered, accepted, and evaluated across 9 directions.
It was noted that out of 760 projects registered for the competition, 152 gained the right to participate in the exhibition. Of these projects, 25 are individual, and 127 are collective.
It should be noted that the “Scientists of Tomorrow” competition is organized in our country by the “Society for Science” organization and is held within the framework of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
Azerbaijani schoolchildren who achieve high scientific research results in the competition will participate in the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) held in the United States of America.
The purpose of holding the competition is to identify talented students with scientific research and creative potential, to develop skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, public speaking, and communication in them, to expand relations between higher education institutions and scientific organizations with general education institutions, and also to ensure students' networking with peers who have similar interests.
