Nearly 120 thousand applicants for higher and secondary specialized education have registered

A total of 118,425 applicants have registered for admission to the bachelor's level of higher education and the secondary specialized education level (based on complete secondary education).

According to information obtained by Aztəhsil.az from the State Examination Center, 115,732 of them applied to higher education institutions (HEIs), and 107,125 people applied to colleges based on an 11-year education. Of those who applied to higher education institutions, 106,718 registered for the Azerbaijani section, and 11,707 for the Russian section. Among those who applied to colleges, 97,882 people chose the Azerbaijani section, and 9,243 people chose the Russian section.

The number of applicants who will participate in the test examination for the subject “Mother Tongue (as a state language)” is 10,715. Of these, 10,192 people will take the exam within the framework of the graduation exam, and 523 people will take the exam within the framework of the admission exam (1st attempt).

In addition, the number of applicants admitted to the competition without participating in this exam in the current year, having received a “satisfactory” grade in 2025, is 992.

Also, based on the results of the 2025 graduation and Stage I test examinations, the number of applicants joining the competition is 2,349.

It should be noted that the registration of all applicants (Stage I of application acceptance) to participate in the admission examinations to higher education institutions concludes on March 5. Candidates who have not registered are not admitted to the exam.
