“Over the past 20 years, many issues in Azerbaijani education have found their resolution. As a result of the direct attention and care of the head of state, state strategies, and state programs, more than 3600 schools have been built and thoroughly renovated in Azerbaijan”.
Aztəhsil.az reports that these remarks were made by Kenan Karimzade, Deputy Minister of Science and Education, at an event titled “EducationPlus Card: New Opportunities for Education Workers”.
According to the Deputy Minister, approximately 90 percent of the education infrastructure has been renewed, and as a result of these efforts, the learning and teaching conditions for over 1.3 million students have improved:
“As a second important direction, I would like to note the work done in recent years to improve the welfare of education workers. We have carried out the certification of over 80,000 of our teachers. A 35 percent increase has been added to the salaries of some of these teachers, and a 10 percent increase to others. Overall, whether it is vocational education or higher education, we observe an increase in coverage at both educational levels. Our admission results are improving. In the example of higher education institutions, the results of Azerbaijani higher education institutions in international rankings have improved. New institutions with modern infrastructure are already being put into operation in Azerbaijani vocational education”, – he noted.
