Today, the IX Republican Scientific Conference of Young Researchers was held at Azerbaijan University.
Aztəhsil.az reports that the conference was organized in 5 directions: information and communication technologies and their applications, humanities, economics, social sciences, and natural sciences, with over 200 presentations heard in section meetings.
At the opening ceremony of the event, Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the university and Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, delivered an opening speech. The Vice-Rector greeted the conference participants on behalf of the university's Rector, Saadat Aliyeva, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, and noted that the event was jointly organized by the Science Department and the International Master's and Doctoral Center. Y. Gasimov stated that being an intellectual, scientist, and researcher in Azerbaijan today requires great responsibility. The Vice-Rector emphasized his belief that the conference participants deeply understand this responsibility in the context of modern challenges and will adequately fulfill the tasks ahead. It was noted in the speech that young researchers from Karabakh University are also actively participating in the event. This fact indicates that science and education traditions are being restored in the liberated territories.
Nushaba Guliyeva, Advisor to the Rector, Director of the International Master's and Doctoral Center, and Doctor of Philosophy in History, noted that the conference has become a tradition, being held annually since 2018. She stated that the number of research papers submitted to the conference increases year by year, and its geographical scope is also expanding. The event has attracted the attention of young researchers and has become an important platform for them.
Later, at the opening ceremony, speeches were heard from the conference guests – Lala Gahramanli, a leading researcher at the Nano-research scientific laboratory of the Research, Development and Innovation Excellence Center of Baku State University, and the consecutive winner of the university's “Young Scientist of the Year” competition in natural and technical sciences for the last 3 years, and Aydin Talishinski, an ENT surgeon at the Special Medical Service Special Treatment - Health Complex and Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine. The guests presented their latest scientific findings and shared their life stories with the event participants.
Following the opening, the conference continued its work in 7 section meetings. Young researchers delivered reports and presentations dedicated to current topics in fields such as history, law, philology, economics, sociology, education, culture, natural, and technical sciences during the section meetings. After discussions held around the reports and presentations, the conference concluded its work.
It should be noted that the purpose of the conference, which is academically and scientifically very rich, is to provide a platform for young researchers studying at various universities and educational levels, and working in scientific research institutes in Azerbaijan, to present their scientific results.
