After the graduation exam on March 9, some applicants and parents participating expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the design of the test tasks.
According to them, some questions go beyond the school curriculum. At the same time, among those complaining, there are also those who state that the questions were not clearly and correctly formulated, and that the text of some tasks was excessively long and did not correspond to the allotted time.
Aztəhsil.az reports that the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Center (SEC), Məleykə Abbaszadə, responded to the claims regarding the main issues raised in the discussions.
"People sometimes do not correctly assess the purpose of the exam. Graduation exams, along with final attestation, are the first stage of admission exams to higher education institutions. These results are also taken as a basis for admission to colleges. This means we must make a certain selection among exam participants based on their knowledge and skills.
Therefore, there are also difficult tasks in the exam. This is because highly prepared applicants also need to be distinguished. However, no one can claim that the exam was difficult overall and that participants did not have the opportunity to answer the tests.
Our traditional analyses show that the opinions voiced by some people regarding the difficulty of test tasks are not correct. It is not possible to form an opinion based on what is written on social networks about the difficulty of the exam. On social networks, sometimes a perception of the exam being difficult overall is created based on just one task. However, this is not the case in reality.

The test block also includes medium and easy tasks. Our analyses also show this. The reliability coefficients of the tests used in the exam are very high. I recommend every teacher, expert, as well as representatives of the pedagogical community, to open and read the "Abituriyent 12" journal published on the SEC website. Before forming any opinion, you should have a database of information that can substantiate them. This is especially important during mass examinations".
