At Baku State University (BSU), the field visit of the Accreditation Commissions formed for the relevant specializations has begun within the framework of the international program accreditation carried out by the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) of Kazakhstan. In accordance with accreditation procedures, international expert commissions for 14 educational programs taught at the master's level have commenced their activities at the university to conduct an on-site evaluation of the teaching process and activities.

It was reported from the university to Aztəhsil.az that during the meeting with IQAA representatives, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev provided detailed information about the measures implemented in the direction of quality assurance. Meanwhile, Asiman Ilyasov, Advisor to the BSU Rector for Quality Assurance, spoke about the work done towards establishing internal and external quality assurance systems at the university and ensuring their effectiveness and sustainability.

Subsequently, IQAA President Sholpan Kalanova provided information on the role and importance of international accreditation in the development of quality assurance systems in higher education institutions and informed the participants about the agenda of the field visit. One of the members of the Accreditation Commission, Miras Daulenov, President of the Kazakhstan branch of Coventry University, Great Britain, gave a presentation on the evaluation criteria applied by IQAA and brought the main principles of the accreditation process to the attention of the participants.

The international program accreditation process, carried out based on the cooperation agreement signed between BSU and IQAA, is conducted in accordance with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) adopted in the European Higher Education Area. The Accreditation Commissions conducting the international accreditation evaluation of fourteen educational programs include international experts from Pakistan, Turkey, Slovenia, and Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the field visit, experts will hold meetings with the university's academic and administrative staff, students, alumni, and employers, and will also become closely acquainted with the content of the educational programs, teaching and learning methods, quality assurance mechanisms, and BSU's material and technical base.

It should be noted that IQAA is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance and is officially registered in the European Quality Assurance Register. This ensures that the accreditation process is conducted in accordance with international standards and that its results are recognized internationally.

The ongoing field visit is significant for evaluating the quality of educational programs taught at BSU in accordance with international standards, further developing the academic environment, and increasing the university's global competitiveness.
